I wasn’t feeling like anyone’s knight in shining armor
“I was whining about the various ailments and injuries that have accrued over a lifetime spent in the military – I told this to my God daughter and wife over dinner. I am a beat up old soldier and certainly “no knight in shining armor”…she and my wife both smiled and we continued eating dinner…the politics of the day had me in a mood…I was home, safe, warm, and eating dinner with my family.
Anyway – True, sent me this – It dawned on me just how lucky and honored I am to have such smart women looking out for me…and keeping me grounded.
There is a Japanese phrase “OSU” which is essentially a Zen concept re-emphasizing that to be “here and now” in this moment are important concepts that allow us to be at peace. I knew this lesson and had forgotten…reminders are present everyday – as to how lucky I truly am.
