I will be the first to admit that the whole subject of what and how to eat can be extremely confusing. There is much conflicting information out there that it’s hard for people to find their way. With the Satori Challenge we put forth Nine Healthy Eating Guidelines that will make a difference in your overall health.
With that said, I am amazed at the disconnect that even really smart people have to the connection of their overall health and what they put into their body. When you eat junk, your taste buds might thank you, but if the rest your body could talk, it would say “How do you expect me to operate at a high-level and keep you healthy if you feed me all this stuff?”
It is my belief that you don’t always have to eat perfect, but you should do your best, at least the majority of time, to eat as clean as you can whenever you have the option to do so. I am reminded of the Samurai maxim ….Chu-u-de-are’.. which means moderation, variety, and balance.
I personally follow the nine healthy eating guidelines we put forth in the Satori Challenge. They are:
1- stay hydrated
2-eat low on the food chain
3-eat fresh and unprocessed foods whenever possible
4-eat smaller portions
5-eat more often
6-eat mindfully
7-when tempted with junk food, remember the mantra “being healthy and fit feels a lot better than that tastes”
8-if you’re going to cheat on your diet, cheat small
9-eliminate one thing from your diet for a week and see how you feel
So….what one little thing could you change in you diet that would make a big difference?
Remember that eating on purpose makes all the difference!
