Jack Hogan, born William “Jack” Jackson Hogan Jr., was born in Holyoke, MA on October 11, 1949. Jack founded Hogan Karate International.
As a martial arts instructor, Jack had studied martial arts for over 50 years and was a 10th degree Black Belt in Ryukyu Kempo Karate and a 5th degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate. He earned numerous martial artists awards, including several Halls of Fame inductions with two Legend Grandmaster Awards as well as others.
Jack specialized in Kyusho Jitsu (pressure point fighting) and Small Circle Jujitsu. His teaching was oriented primarily toward self defense.
Jack taught seminars all over the world, from western Canada all the way to India.
He was a member of many organizations, including the Sons of the Confederate Veterans.
Jack was a Green Beret in the 3rd Battalion, 20th Special Forces group of the Florida National Guard and also served in the Florida Air National Guard. He also held the high honor of being knighted as a Knight of Honor in the Sovereign Military Order of St. Michael.
Jack Hogan passed away April 14, 2017 in Jacksonville Florida. He was only 67 years old.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Oceanway, 212 Sago Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32218.
